How to LAN party and not get (too) fat

Thanksgiving is coming and most of us have a long weekend ahead to play all day and night. But we all know what happens there: FOOD. Delicious and fatty food. Good thing this happens once a year... No, it doesn't. Christmas is the same thing a couple of months later. What's a gamer to do? If you absolutely can't exercise (which you TOTALLY should), at least you can try to eat better the rest of the year.

As good as that looks, nachos are not the best option for a LAN party, unless you like your controller or your keyboard smelling like fat forever. And if you want to party all night, you need something that keeps your energy up for a while.

I've been reading the Eat This, Not That! book just to eat smarter myself, and then I found some really cool stuff on the webpage that I believe everyone should know. Especially us gamers that tend to eat crap. This article has the 50 best snacks in America, and you can definitely buy most of them (and afford them too!) for your everyday life OR for your super awesome LAN parties.

We'll start with protein bars. They might sound boring, but this bar has enough peanut butter to keep you happy and full. It's better than a PB&J sandwich any day and it's less messy. Win-win!

I know it's not Mountain Dew, but it's good for you AND tastes good. I absolutely HATE vegetables and this is the only way I could get near those things. (Except carrots, they're cool).

Pizza. You can't go wrong with pizza ever... EVER. With this whole grain pizzas you'll have the flavor, like half the calories and 0% mess. Win-win again!

For your sweet tooth, these Pepperidge Farm swirls are super good and only 80 calories each slice. If you want an extra energy boost and want to cry because it's the most delicious thing you ever tasted, have it with this.

This is it, boys and girls. You can prevent that pear shape just by making some changes in what you eat and drink. Gaming is fun, until you start to have health problems. Eating good and exercise can be SUPER FUN TOO so you should give it a try! If you want to know all the delicious healthy snacks you can swap for that bag of Cheetos, click here.
