SuperBetter introduction

Hello everyone! Welcome to my first blog.
Here you will find info on upcoming, new and old games. Also, you will find a bunch of random stuff that I like, and don’t get surprised if there are some dumb jokes about my League of Legends obsession. To prove this, here you have mini sprites of 2 of my favorite characters.

But today I’m going to talk about a new game that’s on a beta stage, and I’m super excited about. Jane McGonigal wants to prove that video games can make us better, and she’s been trying to prove it for a while. You can also see all her games here.

Social Chocolate is developing SuperBetter, and they have a very unique approach to both video games and life. In their own words:
SuperBetter is a game that helps you recover from any illness or injury -- or achieve any health goal — by increasing your personal resilience. Resilience means staying curious, optimistic and motivated even in the face of the toughest challenges.

The game asks you what you want to improve in your health or lifestyle, and creates customized missions that you have to complete in order to unlock new ones.

Right now I’m starting my first mission and as you can see, my goal is to sleep better. There are many other options, from exercising more or running a marathon, to improving asthma, cancer or even heart disease. This game has scientific back up and their ultimate goal is: “to create a paradigm-shifting system that will change the way the world thinks about health, healing and wellness”.

Social Chocolate wants to test their game in hospitals, schools, organizations and communities. If anybody wants to get SuperBetter, you can register for the closed beta here, or you can always just tell a friend!
